Caring for students

Mount Riverview Public School is a very welcoming and friendly school.

We run a playgroup for families wishing to meet others whose children are, or will be, attending the school. Playgroup runs every Wednesday during school term, from 9.30am to 10.30am in the school hall. It's a great opportunity to meet other parents from our school and for preschool children to interact with others.

Our peer support program is designed to reinforce the community of the school. In Term 1, Year 6 attend a leadership day for personal development. This is followed later in the year by peer support sessions where groups of children, mixed across the whole school, are led by a Year 6 leader and a Year 5 co-leader, and participate in team activities.

Year 6 are also buddies for our Kindergarten students, spending time with Kindergarten throughout the year, sometimes helping them with activities, or hearing them read.
