At Mount Riverview, students are at the heart of all we do.
Our school has 231 students in nine classes, which makes us a small school.
Our school is situated on Rusden Road, Mount Riverview's main road, backing onto a beautiful bush reserve, looking towards Mount Hay in the west.
Despite being a small school, we offer a vast array of extra curricular and enrichment activities, due to the efforts of our teachers and parent community.
In 2024, some of these included:
- chess club
- choir
- dance group
- public speaking
- guitar group
- ukelele group
- talent quest
- sport gala days
- fundraising events
- Student Representative Council (SRC)
- Futures program (school garden and sustainability)
- Maths Games
- Swimming amd Water Safety program
- Music incursion
- Author visit
- student leadership roles
The original parts of the school were built in 1971. In 2011, our school gained a new library building, a new administration building, a covered outdoor learning area (COLA) and a computer lab. In 2011-12, our parents and citizens' association (P&C) raised money for interactive whiteboards for all our classrooms. P&C have also funded the original air conditioning units for all classrooms. Since 2020, we've completed a range of other school facilities improvement projects including installation of an astroturf sport field, a mural on our hall, development of a shaded seating area outside the library and installation of new playground equipment. Our newest project is currrently underway - installation of a shade structure over the playground equipment.
