Our library

Mount Riverview Public School library fosters a positive attitude towards reading and learning for all students. Our school library has an excellent selection of quality literary and factual books together with the latest technology allowing access to online information. Students can access our collection to search and reserve items remotely through their studet portal

Library Information

Our library supports our students to develop a love of reading and literacy. Students are encouraged to borrow weekly from our wonderful library collection. Kindergarten students may borrow two books, while Year 1 to 6 students borrow three books at a time. All students are encouraged to use a library bag, but Kindergarten to Year 2 students must have a library bag to borrow.

Throughout the year, our library promotes reading and literacy in many ways. Our library celebrates NAIDOC Week, CBCA Book Week, Premier's Reading Challenge and other key literacy events.

Library Borrowing Days

All classes spend an hour each week learning in the library with our teacher-librarian, Mrs Franklin. During this time, learning is focused on literacy, research and story time, supporting classroom learning and integrating all Key Learning Areas.

Wednesdays - KB, KS, 1/2B, 1/2T

Thursdays - 1/2F, 3/4M, 3/4S, 5/6V, 5/6S

Students can also return and borrow books at lunch times.

In addition to their regular library time, students are welcome to spend time in library to read, draw and play board games. Our library is ope to all students during lunch times between 1.05-1.30pm (2nd half) on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
